EquipmentShare is Hiring a Senior Interior Designer - Retail/Corporate
We're expanding our team at EquipmentShare HQ! We're currently searching for a Senior Interior Designer for our corporate design team to help us expand our operations across the country. The position is primarily remote, with preference for potential employees in or near the Kansas City, St. Louis and Columbia, Mo., markets. Traveling to our corporate office in Columbia, Mo., will be periodically required.
Primary Responsibilities for a Senior Interior Designer
- Ensure all design projects company-wide uphold the EquipmentShare design standards
- Establish project goals
- Assist team members with project budgets and timelines
- Execute multiple designs under various deadlines
- Translate stated design principles / objectives into unique and varied store locations
- Identify, analyze and solve design and construction problems in a collaborative manner
- Select materials, furnishings and decor
- Ensure interior building environments are aesthetically pleasing, functional, reliable and safe – a working knowledge of building codes and accessibility standards
- Participate in occasional site visits
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Mentor junior interior staff
- Read, interpret and explain complex technical documents
- Collaborate with architects, engineers and contractors to further understand how interior space should function, appear and be furnished
- Prepare sketches or renderings to demonstrate preliminary designs to various internal stakeholders
- Utilize design software to prepare and illustrate final plans, renderings and construction documents
- Work with purchasers to order necessary furnishings, fixtures and equipment– adhering to project and budget specification
- Oversee the installation of materials, furniture and other design elements
- Ensure project success by performing post-occupancy evaluations
- Maintain current knowledge of trends, materials, techniques and other developments in interior design – a drive for continually learning
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications for a Senior Interior Designer
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
- 10 years of experience preferred
- NCIDQ certification
- Experience across all phases of project delivery – conceptual through construction
- Relevant working design experience in retail and/or corporate workplace sectors preferred. Commercial experience is required
- Current knowledge of industry trends, technology, building codes and regulations
- Ability to work well with a team – in person and remotely
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to apply a sense of style to create aesthetically pleasing and engaging interior space
- The ability to diagram designs digitally and by hand
- Desire to seek, learn and utilize various design technologies, with proficiency in the following software:
- Revit, Enscape for Revit or similar rendering plug-in
- Adobe Creative Cloud - Photoshop, Illustrator
- Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Apps
