About the role

The Team:

The NESMH is in Scottsdale and provides clinical care to the people living and visiting the Dorset municipality. This hospital is an 18 bed subacute hospital with a three-bed emergency department. There is one palliative care bed in the hospital which allows patients to have their end of life close to their family.

This position works as part of the clinical team at NESMH in Scottsdale. The Registered Nurse provides clinical care to subacute inpatients and anyone presenting to the ED. There is a Medical Officer on call who provides additional care when required. There is allied health support of physio, social worker and radiographer. 

Other services provided by the hospital include Community Nursing and Home Help. 

The Role:

  • The RN position will be part of the clinical team. This position is supported by Enrolled Nurses and Health Care Assistants. As the senior clinician on site, the RN should possess the following skills.
  • A minimum of 6 months experience in an acute or subacute clinical setting.
  • Clinical skills relevant for sub acute inpatients and ED presentations.
  • Work as part of the clinical team providing supervision and guidance to the ENs and HCAs

Details of appointment:

  • Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing 1 February 2026 for approximately 24 months.

Salary: $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Salary Packaging:

Eligibility:
