The Team:
- Hospitals North provides antenatal, intrapartum and post -natal care to approx 1600 women per year, through low- risk continuity of care models, outreach clinics and high risk multi-disciplinary models.
- Midwifery students are supported through their study period with paid clinical placement hours of between 48 hours per fortnight and 64 hours per fortnight (dependent on the University you choose to study with). Clinical Supervision is offered within work times for professional development and wellbeing.

The Role:
The Registered Nurse - Student Midwife:
- Consistent with ongoing experience, strengthens health outcomes through the provision of quality, clinically appropriate midwifery care in partnership with women and their families/significant others and other health professionals while undertaking study that will lead to registration as a midwife.

Details of appointment:
Multiple fixed term part time, shift worker (fully rotational) positions, working up to 64 hours per fortnight, 9 February 2026 until 8 August 2027.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Confirmation of enrolment in a midwifery course accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
