The Opportunity:

We are looking for a versatile, curious, and motivated Associate Software Engineer to join the Visa Acceptance Platform – Integration team, a cross-functional engineering group within the broader Acceptance Solutions Technology organization. This team is responsible for building and scaling our global notification infrastructure, including webhook delivery, email and SMS delivery systems, subscription management tools, and developer-facing integration capabilities.

As an Associate Software Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers to help deliver frictionless, scalable solutions that empower partners and the developer community to build and innovate on the Visa Acceptance Platform. You will contribute to the design, development, and operation of event-driven, fault-tolerant systems that support billions of transactions and enable real-time communication across Visa’s ecosystem. Your work will directly support platform reliability, developer experience, and partner autonomy — with opportunities to learn modern technologies, contribute to high-impact projects, and grow your engineering skills in a global environment.

The Work itself:

  • Contribute to the design, build, and evolution of systems that serve a global user base, supporting Visa’s standards for scalability, security, and reusability.

  • Assist in improving and modernizing existing platforms to meet performance, reliability, and integration demands across Visa’s ecosystem.

  • Help develop event-driven systems that power Visa’s notification infrastructure, including webhook delivery, email and SMS delivery systems, and subscription management tools.

  • Participate in implementing observability-first engineering practices and delivery guarantees.

  • Learn and apply secure-by-design principles, following Visa’s rigorous internal security standards and external regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate across teams to build best-in-class software solutions for Visa’s global offerings.

  • Assist in preparing platforms for global readiness, including localized and compliant messaging experiences.

  • Support release management activities such as multi-region deployments, feature toggles, and rollback prevention.

  • Gain exposure to AI-powered tools and workflows to enhance developer productivity, automation, and efficiency.

Essential Functions:

  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Help implement APIs and backend services for real-time partner integrations.

  • Follow secure coding practices and contribute to compliance efforts.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, TPMs, Solution Engineers, and SREs, to deliver integration solutions.

  • Learn and apply AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cline Code, Cursor) in the product development lifecycle.

  • Contribute to documentation, participate in code reviews, and follow established engineering standards.

  • Assist in identifying and resolving technical issues in distributed systems.

    The Skills You Bring:

    • Learning Mindset – Eagerness to grow technical skills and learn from experienced engineers.

    • Problem Solving – Ability to break down problems and work toward solutions with guidance.
