Job Description

Trayt is looking for a passionate & experienced Front-End Lead / Manager who's as much a leader as they are a coder. In our dynamic environment, your role is set to oscillate between spearheading projects and leading teams - sometimes weekly! Trayt’s products include modern web applications build with React and a React Native mobile app which interface with our NodeJS APIs.

Ideally, you've got start up experience and have a desire to be part of a fast-growing team. It is important to understand that building for our medical partners requires extra care and the increased responsibility of ensuring every decision reflects this understanding.

Responsibilities

• Hybrid Role - Developer (50%) and Manager (50%): Some weeks will immerse you deep into code and designs, while others will see you strategizing and leading. The balance will shift, and your adaptability is key.
• Lead complex front-end projects by defining requirements, determining solutions, and delivering results ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Write and maintain unit tests with Jest, and ensure robust UI tests with Cypress.
• Occasionally dive into our NodeJs API code.

• Be at the forefront of transitions, like from JavaScript to TypeScript or from SPA to SSR.
• Embrace tools and methodologies like Jest and Cypress for testing, Github for CI/CD, and potentially explore tools like Vite for optimization.
• Engage, supervise, mentor with offshore teams, ensuring seamless integration of their contributions.
• Ensure that best practices are adhered to at all phases of development and deployment.
• Champion the Scrum methodology, with a readiness to adapt Kanban or Lean when necessary.

• Understand the nuances of customer requirements and developer challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field involving coding, or equivalent technical experience.

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years web front-end experience:-

• Proficiency in React and TypeScript, with an emphasis on Material-UI (MUI5) for creating intuitive, modern interfaces.
• Advanced understanding of CSS Specificity, JSS orchestration, and design systems for a cohesive and seamless user experience.
• Experience in styled components and related systems.

• Experience writing secure / defensive code using frameworks such as Jest and Cypress.
• Start-up experience is a must.
• Skillful in building a team culture and able to mentor and train.
• Firm grasp of Scrum, Agile, Lean, and Kanban methodologies.
• A collaborative and “Can Do” approach to problem solving.

• Stellar communication skills.

Base salary range - $165,000 - $195,000
