About the role

The Nutrition Services Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of food service to provide the highest quality food to patients, staff, and visitors. The manager provides oversight of the multiple areas including patient services, retail, and production. This position creates a supportive environment which encourages maximum employee performance through participative management and the recognition of each employee’s value to the organization. Develops and monitors annual budget.

 

Work Schedule:  40 hrs weekly / 1.0FTE; Monday-Friday

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR High school graduate and previous equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience in hospital or healthcare setting
  • 2 years leadership experience
  • ServSafe Manager Certification
  • Knowledge of large quantity food preparation
  • Knowledge of menu building, purchasing for menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting
  • Knowledge of food safety, regulatory agency standards and regulations (CMS, Health Department, etc.)
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
  • Strong background in safety and sanitation compliance
  • Must be able to direct, control and supervise personnel and activities of multiple services areas
  • Knowledge of the local and federal food safety authority and labeling guidelines
  • Knowledge of product merchandising, marketing and ordering standards
  • Sets an example for staff members and encourages a positive attitude and team approach
  • Work history demonstrating strong leadership and ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities if needed 
  • Ability to problem-solve and manage projects creatively and effectively
  • Ability to multitask and be effective in a high-standard environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in nutrition/dietetics/culinary
  • 5+ years experience in hospital or healthcare setting
  • Registered Dietitian
  • Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM)
  • Experience in menu writing and development
  • Knowledge and understanding of therapeutic diet orders and application in a healthcare setting including patient meal ordering software
  • Strong financial acumen
