Requirements

Education, Training or Certifications Required:

• High school plus one year of specialized cooking school preferred. 
•  Certified sanitation course.

Special Requirements:

• Emotional maturity and good people skills required. 
• Awareness of local, state and federal guidelines.
•  Culinary training or extensive cooking and production experience. 
• Knowledge of basic training techniques.
• Understanding of proper use and maintenance of all kitchen equipment.

Cognitive Requirements:

• Ability to prioritize workload.

Physical Demands:

• Lifts food containers and stock with potential for strains from lifting.
• Stands on feet most of the time.
• Able to lift 55 pounds or more.
• Prolonged walking and standing.

Environment:

• Exposed to high temperatures and steam with potential for burns.
• Exposed to wet floors with potential for slips.
• Exposed to sharp objects with potential for cuts.
• May involve exposure to infectious disease.
