Adjunct Nursing Clinical Faculty - Westchester Medical Center

Overview

The Clinical Instructor will teach in the undergraduate program at a clinical site with 8-9 students with an emphasis on the care of a patient within the psychiatric/medical-surgical patient population. Clinical instructors are expected to be available for all clinical assignments once scheduled during the semester. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Complete facility orientation prior to the start of clinical.
• Create patient assignments prior to the start of the clinical day.
• Supervise students in all aspects of care of patients/clients.
• Review and provide feedback for all written clinical assignments.
• Submit grades for assignments as directed by course coordinator.
• Provide weekly feedback to students in the clinical area.
• Complete midterm/final clinical evaluations.
• Plan instructional activities for pre/post conferences.
• Communicate and issues at the clinical site with course coordinator.
• Responsible for all clinical hours assigned to the course.
• Assist in Proctoring exams if needed.
• Attend faculty meetings once a semester.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
• Medical/Surgical nursing background (3-5 years’ experience), including clinical supervision of students

Licensures/Certifications

• Valid NY State Professional RN license
• Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer or Health Provider

• Self-directed and organized

Maximum Salary

USD $90.00/Hr.

Minimum Salary

USD $80.00/Hr.
