Job Description:
Indorama Ventures – Indovinya is currently looking for an Operations Maintenance Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for the overall mechanical maintenance of assigned areas of the plant including both fixed and rotating equipment.
What will be expected from you?
- Responsible for Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance as it relates to mechanical integrity, engineering design, relief devices, process safety information, engineering related procedures and all applicable document retention requirements.
- Makes periodic inspections of all equipment within assigned units and assists maintenance and operations personnel with modification, or improvement of said equipment including proper documentation and regulatory change management.
- Responsible for proper maintenance and engineering repair recommendations and priorities for all plant stationery and rotating equipment within the areas assigned.
- Troubleshooting of rotating and stationary equipment utilizing tools such as inspection reports, vibration analysis and historian data.
- Leads root cause activities (RCFA) for stationery and rotating equipment failures.
- Work with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (O.E.E.) programs to identify bad actors and create resolution plans for stationery and rotating equipment in assigned area.
- Responsible for engineering and procurement specifications for equipment within the units assigned.
- Assist the capital project managers with capital projects from idea to operation phases.
- Provide capital project scope of work definitions that are to the level required to obtain budgetary bids.
- Provides the maintenance and operations group with technical assistance and written/field instructions concerning the maintenance, startup, shutdown and proper operation of mechanical equipment within the areas assigned.
- Keeps current with technical developments in his/her respective field through outside study, trade journals, technical societies, and seminars.
- Embrace continuing education by identifying training needs, budgets, schedules and attending training.
- Ensure that the activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system, as applicable (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements).
- Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, the ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure the required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
- Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
- Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
- Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company required training programs.
What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
- Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in equipment maintenance and/or reliability in a petrochemical or refining facility required.
- 5 years maintenance and/or reliability experience in a petrochemical or refining facility preferred.
- Experience in analysis and creation of preventative maintenance procedures and/or practices to ensure validity, efficiency and maximum unit uptime and asset availability strongly desired.
- Experience with predictive maintenance programs using Condition Monitoring to include: Thermal Scanning, Temperature Trending and Analysis, Vibration Analysis, etc..
- Prior experience leading Risk Based Maintenance assessments on critical equipment a plus.
- Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
- Knowledge of risk-based work prioritization methodology
- Knowledge in Reliability Centered Maintenance or some form of Asset Management Plan Development is desired.
- Experience with machinery monitoring and troubleshooting including bearings, seals and auxiliary support systems and vibration analysis Prior experience working with daily maintenance/production support is preferred.
- Experience with reliability-focused statistical analysis is desired.
- Understanding of corrosion mechanisms is preferred.
