Airport Assistant Director- Parking & Ground Transportation Operations

Salary range: $107,000 - $115,000 

Advises the Sr. Director of Parking & Ground Transportation and provides extensive knowledge and recommendations on Parking and Ground Transportation Operational Management and Contractor Oversight. This is a professional position requiring experience in the areas of Business Administration; Parking & Ground Transportation; Customer Service and Operational Management.

The Assistant Director implements operating policies and procedures, plans, and manages budgets, directs operations, develops leadership and technical talent, develops and implements capital projects, and monitors and measures performance of the operations of the Department to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

• Provides strategy and policy recommendations to the Sr. Director and Sr. Leadership regarding Parking & Ground Transportation Operations
• Acts on behalf of the Sr. Director to manage the day-to-day operations and functions of the Department, including operational analysis, revenue generation, and budget management, in the Sr. Director’s absence
• Makes day-to-day decisions on matters not requiring approval from the Sr. Director where needed or on behalf of the Sr. Director as necessary
• Oversees the Operations team within the Parking & Ground Transportation Division
• Takes responsibility for the effectiveness and efficiency of operations as a whole, intervening as and when required, to ensure that key objectives are met
• Promotes a culture of innovation, service and value 
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• In-depth operational knowledge of parking and/or ground transportation operations
• Comprehensive knowledge of the modern principles of public administration as they apply to parking and transportation.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the City, with vendors, employees and the general public. 
• Ability to build partnerships with stakeholders internally and external to the organization. 
• Ability to recognize where the organization is and where the organization needs to go to ensure future success.
• Ability to listen, communicate effectively and speak persuasively with individuals, groups and stakeholders
• Ability to make decisions that are fair and impartial.
• Keen ability to grasp and interpret parking & ground transportation systems and data, reports and apply for maximum results to the operation; prepares and manages operation functions.
• Develops and manages the operation and capital annual operation budgets.
• Responsible for oversight of all projects impacting parking & ground transportation and engaging other department heads and contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business/Fiscal Management or related discipline
• 5-7 years of experience at the mid-manager level in parking management/ operating or ground transportation industries.
• 3+ years of direct people/teams management experience
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships. 

Preferred Requirements (separate from minimum requirements and not required to qualify for the job)

• Advanced degree preferred
• 2 years of airport management experience
