About the role

Production Supervisor- Zanesville Mill

We are seeking a hands-on working supervisor to lead and oversee a team while actively participating in day-to-day operations. This role requires someone who is not only responsible for managing staff and ensuring productivity but is also directly involved in the work process, providing guidance and support where necessary. The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of leadership skills and practical experience in the field, working alongside team members to achieve operational goals and maintain high standards of quality.

Compensation: $80,000 - $115,000, including salary and potential bonuses earned

Shifts: 10-hour daily shifts, some overtime required.

Job Responsibilities of a Production Supervisor:

  • Leads plant or shift production workers
  • Directs and coordinates department or shift production activities, including scheduling adequate staff to operate the line
  • Supervises all plant safety rules and regulations and provides safety orientation and training
  • Enforces compliance
  • Drives a culture of continuous improvement
  • Employee development and annual performance reviews
  • Documents incidents, disciplinary actions, and accident/injury reports when needed
  • Assists in developing job procedures
  • Inspects material for quality defects
  • Assists in the training of new team members. Develops a training plan for all production positions and ensure that employees are appropriately trained in any area that they are assigned.

Requirements for a Production Supervisor:

  • Education: High School diploma or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience: 2-4 years of supervisory, management, or team lead experience

  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define the problem, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Some relevant manufacturing experience
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and inspire your team and co-workers
  • Ability to troubleshoot processes and equipment
  • Computer literacy
  • Take the initiative to get things done
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
