POSITION SUMMARY

The Radiologic Technologist performs a variety of duties in preparing patients for scans of particular organs to furnish diagnostic information.  This individual operates radioscopic equipment to produce scanograms and measures concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specified body areas. The Radiologic Technologist provides appropriate age-specific patient care to neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations.  

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION REQUIRED

High School Diploma or equivalent

Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology

Meets requirements for registry by ARRT

Attended an accredited Nuclear Medicine school and/or completed an appropriate training program under the supervision of a Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Director of Radiology or Chief Radiologist

Maintains and documents continuing education requirements as required by AART and CNMT

Completes age specific education

Completion of age specific competency checklist

Completes competency requirements as a registered radiologic technologist

Maintains department specific educational requirements

EDUCATION PREFERRED

LICENSURES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Current ARRT registry with card on file in Director's office

LICENSURES OR CERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED 

Current NMCTB registry with card on file in Director's office

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

One year or more as a Radiologic Technologist

Adequate capabilities as determined by department administrator

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

One year or more as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Pay Range

$37.50 - $56.25
