Senior Quantum Engineer

Microsoft Quantum research group is exploring ways to build a full-stack quantum computer and has become the world’s center of expertise on topological quantum computing. The research effort includes theoretical and experimental teams around the world, who have been designing and optimizing all aspects of the quantum computer, from topological qubit designs to cryogenic control and readout circuitry, to runtime software and quantum language compilers. Responsibilities

• You will join a talented and motivated team of scientists and engineers committed to advancing topological qubits. Collaborating with a global network of professionals, your collective efforts will be instrumental in achieving breakthroughs in quantum computing. 
• Your main responsibility will be developing and performing simulations of devices that are designed, fabricated and measured at Microsoft Quantum. 
• Leveraging state-of-the-art Microsoft Azure high-performance computational resources, you will perform self-consistent electrostatic simulations, as well as quantum and thermal transport simulations, to predict and optimize device performance.  The outcomes of these simulations will guide critical improvements in device design. 
• You will be tasked with validating simulations through comparison with experimental data and established models. You will engage in collaborative efforts with experimental physicists to design experiments and analyze data.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in industry or in a research and development environment
