We are now hiring a Financial Accountant to report to our Head of Accounting, Controls & Projects. Joining a team of 7, this person will be responsible for managing accounting and internal control processes for our trading subsidiaries, ensuring compliance, and providing accurate financial reporting. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial infrastructure for our global brands.

About the role

Accounting and Internal Control:

• Define, review, and systematically improve accounting and internal control processes for IDL trading subsidiaries.
• Collaborate with IT to explore and implement automation for processes and reporting systems.
• Identify critical areas of risk and ensure all risks are effectively managed.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across all operations.

Fixed Assets Reporting:

• Reconcile all Fixed Assets general ledger accounts to the Fixed Asset register, including Work in Progress (WIP).
• Oversee the reporting of Fixed Asset sales.

Balance Sheet Reporting:

• Maintain and reconcile allocated balance sheet accounts.
• Review the ageing of Goods Received/Invoice Received (GRIR) accounts.
• Manage manual accruals and ensure accuracy.

General Ledger Accounting:

• Post standing charges and structure elements.
• Report on non-recurring financial events as part of the monthly reporting pack.
• Manage outsourced partner accounting processes.

Financial Statements:

• Prepare and review financial statements and returns for dormant non-trading entities within the Irish Distillers Group.
• Ensure comprehensive reporting of non-trading entities' P&L and balance sheets within the Pernod Ricard EPM.
• Act as the point of contact for Margin in Stock reporting for Irish Distillers Group within Pernod Ricard Group.
• Continuously improve operating processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

• Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent with a minimum of 1-2 years PQE.
• Big 4 Accounting/Auditing experience is desirable.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with an aptitude for maximizing IT systems.
• Highly motivated self-starter with efficient work methods and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Flexible approach with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong financial and technical acumen.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Understanding of business needs and priorities, with a focus on innovative solutions.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite with strong Excel skills.
• Knowledge of SAP is desirable.
