Transition Plus Administrative Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA)
SUMMARY:
The Administrative TOSA will work directly with Principal and Project Manager to coordinate, develop, implement, and evaluate Programming and tasks related to the School Improvement Plan (SIP) that will lead to achievement for students at Transition Plus as well as processes to improve building climate.
Create a safe school environment that promotes equity, high expectations for all, and authentic engagement with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Collaborate to plan and facilitate family engagement events
- Participate in building managerial duties such as emergency drills, student supervision and behavior management
- Review and Maintain course catalog and syllabi; meet with teachers to review each course for each semester
- Focus on student academic achievement through support of mentorship groups, student activities and data meetings
- Manage lunch processes and after school activities
- Oversea new student intake process with the Intake Team
- Collaborate with staff to develop and implement onboarding processes for staff and students
- Collaborate with building teams to coordinate experiences to create an inclusive climate
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to increase student attendance
- Complete teacher observations
Model effective instructional leadership, high expectations for students and staff, and focus on continuous learning.
- Regularly uses data and assessment to monitor progress towards goals and strategically adjust practice
- Create effective systems and processes to ensure staff and students have the support needed to succeed
- Solicit and receive feedback from all stakeholders
Support the school's instructional program to ensure that all students are making adequate growth towards goals.
- Focus on student academic achievement through support of mentorship groups, student activities and clubs
- Develop a shared vision for equitable results; sets aligned, ambitious short- and long-term goals
- Organize and schedule time in alignment with instructional goals
