About the role
Full-Time, 40+ hours per week
Monday–Thursday: 8:00am - 6:30pm.
$20.00 – $23.00 per hour (based on experience)
Primary Function
Safely and efficiently operate cranes, forklifts, and related equipment to process and move sheet, plate, and long products. Perform material handling duties to support warehouse operations, ensuring accuracy, safety, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Locate and verify material as allocated on work orders.
- Operate crane, forklift, and packaging equipment according to specifications.
- Pull, pack, load, and unload material for trucks and customer orders.
- Complete necessary documentation and system entries (AS400).
- Ensure safe stacking and storage of materials.
- Perform quality checks and report any non-conformities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment (sweeping, cleaning work areas, etc.).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed and directed by supervisor.
Quality & Safety Responsibilities
- Identify and prevent non-conformities in product, process, or systems.
- Recommend and verify solutions to problems when identified.
- Control nonconforming product until issues are resolved.
- Represent customer requirements regarding quality, safety, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Tools & Equipment Used
- Forklift and overhead crane
- Banding tools, tape measure, micrometer, sheet splitter, wood saw
- AS400 computer system and basic office equipment
- Required PPE
- Steel and aluminum in sheet, plate, bar, flat, tube, coil, and structural forms.
Qualifications
- Previous material handling or warehouse experience required; stainless steel background a plus.
- Forklift and/or overhead crane experience strongly preferred.
- Safety-minded, adaptable, and team-oriented.
- Ability to read and write English; strong attention to detail.
- Basic math skills, including ability to read tape measures and micrometers.
- Capability for occasional heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs).
- Willingness to learn, take on new responsibilities, and grow within the company.
