The overall mission of the Accounting and Consolidation Department is to provide updated, clear, consistent, and pertinent data about the financial position of the Group and Reporting Units, both for external and internal use
Inside the Group Consolidation department, the Senior Consolidator plays a key role in the production of the monthly Group Management Accounts as well as the bi annual Group Consolidated Financial Statements (September Half Year & March Full Year), all under IFRS.
Key accountabilities
- Produce and review the financial consolidated statements of the group under IFRS (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement and equity bridge) on a monthly basis.
- Assist the Group Consolidation Director on the analysis and synthesis regarding the accounting treatment of complex transaction
- Develop tools and processes in order to improve the efficiency of the consolidation department and to provide the best support on consolidation topics for reporting units and other departments of the headquarter
- Prepare internal consolidation report on a monthly basis
- Prepare Notes for half-year and year end publications.
- Be in constant and close contact with other central departments of the Finance function.
- Ensure that consolidation tool is always duly updated (scope, consolidation rules, …) in coordination with reporting center.
- Be a guardian of the rules by ensuring proper compliance with the Alstom reporting and accounting principles, statutory and tax regulations.
- Ensure a timely and quality financial information of the Teranga Actual Packages on a monthly basis.
- Provide updates for accounting rules to be included in the Reporting application, Teranga, in line with Group accounting policies.
- Be a business partner by its implication in specific projects like acquisitions or disposals.
- Be the guardian of the rule regarding IAS19, IAS12 & IFRS2 GAAP
- Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct
Educational Requirements & experience
- Business school/ Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Consolidator with above 5 years’ experience in an international company or audit firm
- Strong experience in IFRS
- Good knowledge on the business financial consolidation tool SAP BFC
- Fluent in English
