Position: Medical Assistant

Schedule: Part-time. Mix of weekday mornings/afternoons/evenings and Saturday mornings (current need includes Wed AM, Thu PM, Fri AM, Sat AM). Hours may expand as the clinic grows.

Primary Responsibilities:
Play a key role across front office and clinical support:
Patient intake and vitals; rooming; assist the NP/clinician during visits.
EKG, phlebotomy, IM injections (per credentials and standing orders).
Prepare lab orders; obtain results; upload and document in the EMR with accuracy.
Front office coverage: phones, scheduling, check-in/out, payments, and service recovery.
Insurance basics: verification of benefits (pre and post claim) and accurate notes in the EMR.
Follow-up calls and messages to support adherence, retention, and a five-star patient experience.
Daily scanning/uploading, inventory restocking, and exam room readiness.
Support simple clinic outreach and events as requested by the office manager or provider.
Nutrition exposure a plus: familiarity with food logging, basic nutrition education, or behavior-change support.
Administrative Duties:
Use a multi-line phone system to answer and route calls promptly and professionally.
Conduct care calls to check progress, clarify instructions, and address concerns.
Maintain a friendly, welcoming front desk; uphold high service standards.
Monitor daily inventory for clinical and office supplies; restock to par levels.
Scan and upload documents to patient charts; ensure EMR accuracy and privacy.
Train new staff on daily procedures when requested.
Participate in simple marketing tasks that support clinic awareness and patient retention.
Clinical Duties (varied based on credentials):
Obtain vitals, perform EKG, and phlebotomy.
Administer IM injections.
Prepare lab requisitions; track and file results; document in EMR.
Assist the NP/clinician with patient flow, referrals, and documentation.
Perform other clinical support tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Certification: Medical Assistant certification required; current BLS/CPR.
Experience: Front office experience, including insurance verification and scheduling.
Clinical: EKG and phlebotomy experience. IM injections as permitted by credentials.
Technology: EMR proficiency; comfortable with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; compassionate and empathetic.
Professionalism: Confidentiality, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail.
Nice to have: Exposure to nutrition or behavior-change support; experience in a weight-loss or wellness setting.
