Construction Surveillance Technician

This is a Service Contract (SCA) position 

Amentum is looking for security-minded and energetic individuals to start or extend their careers in national security. Most assignment locations are within the Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA) with advancement opportunities to support other United States Government customers at home and abroad. The Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) is a physical security role responsible for securing, monitoring, observing, and reporting on the customer's construction projects and construction workers. The CST will provide reports to the customer and prevent the introduction of hostile surveillance monitoring devices for the construction project until final completion.

Responsibilities 

• Observe, inspect and report construction site work. 

• Maintain, evaluate and develop physical, personnel and technical security. 

• Produce written reports or documents utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

• Conduct physical equipment searches and personnel searches while on site. 

• Operate technical security devices, systems, and other monitoring devices as an individual or with a team. 

• Report suspicious behavior, security infractions, and correlations between site blueprints and ICD-705 standards. 

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The work environment encompasses a variety of locations and conditions, including office settings and construction sites. The employee may be required to operate in environments where there is noise, dust, and dirt. Exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as heat, cold, and wind, is also possible. Physical demands of the job include prolonged standing, extensive walking within facilities, and the use of ladders and stairs. Employees must possess the capability to safely traverse uneven surfaces and navigate active construction sites, which may contain debris and other potential trip hazards. Furthermore, employees are expected to make logical, mentally competent, and safe decisions while operating within a construction site environment. The role necessitates the ability to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds or 10 kilograms. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory and may include steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other relevant safety gear, depending on the specific tasks and conditions.

Required Qualifications 

• Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top Secret Clearance. 

• Must be willing to take a polygraph, if requested. 

• Must have at least 6 months of security experience and/or 2 years of construction/trades experience. 

• Ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime as needed and travel to different site locations as directed by CST management. 

• Able to stand for 8-12 hours per day. 

• Able to walk on uneven surfaces and safely navigate an active construction site with debris and other trip hazards on the floor.
