Program Manager - Radioactive Material Transport and Lifecycle

Zeno Power is seeking a highly motivated Radioactive Material Transport and Lifecycle Program Manager to support nuclear supply chain efforts on managing lifecycle and transportation of radioisotopes. This role directly supports commercialization of novel radioisotope power system (RPS) technology. In this role you will:

  • Perform analyses of Zeno’s RPS lifecycle and develop cost effective strategies for process waste and transportation including feedstock material, fabrication, assembly, and deployment
  • Evaluate, make recommendations to management, and implement proposed waste and transportation strategies
  • Manage and evaluate commercial contracts with Zeno partners and subcontractors
  • Coordinate with fabrication site to implement the low-level radioactive material disposition strategies
  • Lead radioactive material supply and product transportation and handling logistics with inputs from internal project stakeholders, commercial fabrication partners, deployment customers, and transportation partners
  • Support Zeno’s regulatory efforts, including drafting or reviewing filings, participating in engagements, and contributing to regulatory technical papers
  • Prepare and give oral presentation to internal and external stakeholders, and at technical conferences

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • B.S. with 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience
  • Understanding of radiological material regulations and transportation requirements
  • Candidate must be a self-starter and able to interface with internal and external stakeholders with minimal direction
  • Able to meet deadlines and perform under pressure in an uncertain environment
  • Clearly demonstrate the ability to work either independently or as part of a team
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

Job Functions

  • Motor Abilities: Sitting/standing for extended periods, gripping, fine motor control (hands)
  • Physical requirements: Ability to safely lift up to 15 pounds
  • Special Senses: Visual and audio
  • Work Conditions: Typing, standing/sitting working environment of >8 hr/day
  • Travel: Travel may be required, 10-20%
  • Location: Hybrid in Washington, D.C. (In-office at least 3-4 days each week)

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary band for this position is $120,000-$160,000. The final job level and compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, and other business considerations.
