The Integrated Strategic Solutions Engineering (ISSE) team is looking for an exceptionally motivated Sr. Principal Systems Engineer that is passionate about systems engineering with the ability to drive an innovative network solution in a highly technical environment.
As a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer, you will develop and validate system models and designs for Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) mission systems solutions used on our military customers’ aircraft and ground stations. This opportunity includes supporting one or both of the following platforms: E-4 and E-6. Primary responsibility will be to focus on customer needs and requirements to design, develop, document, integrate, and test both hardware and software systems, ranging from black box to the complex end-to-end platform systems. This position will also be responsible for providing technical guidance to multidisciplined teams, leading effective meetings, cultivating and reinforcing group values, and identifying, analyzing and correcting technical problems.
Projects span the entire development lifecycle, including pursuit and order capture, trade study, system design, requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirement traceability, use case development for software/hardware, systems integration, verification testing and qualification.
The candidate will work closely with fellow systems engineers, Technical Project Engineers (PEs), Product Line / Program Management, software, hardware, electrical and support staff to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of the product lifecycle. This position will support defining the future of armed forces NC3 defense systems. This position is located onsite in Richardson, TX.
Primary Responsibilities:
Define the network solution strategy for the design teams and communicates to executive leadership team, and customer, regarding these solutions for our ISSE mission platforms.
Develop and implement systems processes, methods, models and requirements that will be utilized by internal engineering design teams.
Lead technical proposals and serves as a subject matter expert in non-advocate, internal and customer reviews.
Conduct Trade studies for determining product and technology selection.
Define SysML standards/guidelines to be used by the team to create the System Models.
Plan and oversee system integration and troubleshooting for complex embedded software applications, hardware, LRU’s, and system of systems environments.
Identify and document technical risks and develop and execute mitigation plans.
Lead and advise engineering managers, program managers, business development managers, product line managers, and component architects.
Establish trusted and influential relationships with customers and suppliers.
Monitor cost and schedule and report project status to program management and engineering leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
Network design experience with TCP/IP, SNMP, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, QoS and/or other commonly used networking services and routing protocols used on WANs/LANs
Experience with designing, developing and deploying resilient network solutions for military applications/platforms or similar applications
Experience with end-to-end systems architecture governance and design principles.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
