The Behavioral Health Population Health Lead provides strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities, specifically related to strategic initiatives. The role provides subject matter expertise and strategic planning support, working across multiple business segments.

As the Behavioral Health Population Lead, you will be accountable for leading and coordinating the strategy and execution of initiatives, innovations and/or priorities.  Working closely with National and Market leaders, you have accountability from design to delivery of fully developed integrated experiences that meet the needs of the member and stakeholders.  The ideal candidate has experience launching clinical products and/or designing integrated product experiences and leading or coordinating work across cross-functional teams to create meaningful behavioral health care experiences.  If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are known for your incredible leadership, and execution skills, we can’t wait to meet you.

This role will work cross-functionally with Humana clinical teams (e.g., Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work) and business units (e.g., Clinical Ops, Product, Market) and with external strategic partners to establish and support strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors performance and recommends enhancements, gaps, cost of care opportunities or strategic partnerships
  • Partner closely with a team to execute strategic initiatives and/or relationships.
  • Work internally to develop and manage governance processes and to co-create and execute strategies for clinical partnerships
  • Identify strategic priorities and work to implement those strategies with the appropriate internal and external partners across multiple business segments, academic partners, and external partners
  • Define and work with appropriate professionals to conduct research projects that result in quantifiable health outcomes improvement
  • Develop key metrics and report on those metrics to senior executives internally and with strategic partners externally
  • Collaborate with data teams to establish appropriate protocols for leveraging Humana’s data assets with strategic partners for outcome metrics
  • Build processes to integrate Humana learning practices with internal operational partners as we co-develop curriculum and create education/training opportunities
  • Build positive relationships to achieve strong, sustainable results for Humana, our partners, and the people we serve
  • Work with internal and external partners to establish shared goals and key metrics for monitoring
  • This role requires 30-35% travel to market areas

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Behavioral Health Related Field
  • 5+ years’ experience in behavioral health or addiction
  • 2+ years of direct care experience in an acute or outpatient behavioral health setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior executives across multiple functions
  • Managed Care Experience
  • Understanding of integrated care delivery and how to bring diverse aspects of the care system into a holistic model to make it easy for people to achieve their best health
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong presence, with the ability to influence without authority
  • Ability to travel 30-35% to Market offices for meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience serving Medicaid, TANF, CHIP and DSNP populations.
  • Prior experience in the health and well-being industry
  • Knowledge of clinical education models and inter-professional education 
  • An active, unrestricted Licensed Masters Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), OR
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) OR
  • Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) OR
  • Licensed Addiction Counselors (LACs) OR
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license with at least 3 years of experience in behavioral health.
