Provide Operations Engineering support to the Seapower Capability Center Factory located in Portsmouth, RI. Primary responsibilities will be to support Operations production across a variety of fabrication and integration areas. This includes providing technical guidance to the Manufacturing team and owning the responsibility for the creation, maintenance, and review of manufacturing documentation. Additional responsibilities include process improvement, cycle time reduction, defect prevention and operator support. Individual will be required to participate in process improvement initiatives, establishment of process base line metrics, Defect prevention, and process data analysis.
What You Will Do
Developing, maintaining, and reviewing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs
Support for a manufacturing area, as part of cross-functional team, by guiding the production team through process troubleshooting and incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP
Dispositioning non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
Driving Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using CORE principles and data driven decision making.
Providing real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in-house as well as the supply base.
Leading corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence.
Some travel may be required for this position.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Qualifications We Prefer
Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Word, etc…)
Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
Self-motivated and results oriented individual with an ability to work in a team environment and with minimal direct supervision
Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and keeps pace with advances in technology
Excellent organizational skills with fine attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Knowledge and experience with ANSI J-STD-001
Knowledge and ability to apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or DFMA principles and methods
Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE) and/or simulation tools
Experience with designing, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated tooling and machinery
Experience with Refurbishment/Repair or Warranty requirements and processing of Government Furnished Material (GFM) or Equipment (GFE)
Experience in Transducer and Sensor assembly (mechanical assembly/bonding/potting/molding)
Development of Specialized Tooling (Jigs, Fixtures, Packaging
