Overview
Have you heard? We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual to join our team as a Warehouse Specialist Lead in Wheeling, IL. This pivotal role will ensure materials are accurately verified and counted to fill customer orders, provide backup support to the Supervisor, and assist in training new employees. Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead and Guide Team Members: Oversee the performance of Order Fillers, Inspector Finished Goods, Packers, and temporary contractors in the absence of the Section Supervisor. Ensure compliance with security, safety, and housekeeping rules.
- Training New Associates: Assist in training new team members in departmental methods, processes, and operations.
- Package and Prepare Orders: Handle all types of customer orders, including domestic, export, Return Goods Service Orders, and LTL/TL shipments. Follow priority sequences and various shipping regulations as assigned.
- Prepare Export Documentation: Create export packing lists for international shipments.
- Inspect Picked Materials: Verify correct identification, count, and packaging methods of picked materials.
- Label and Handle Boxes: Label boxes, use tools like box-cutters, pallet jacks, and tape guns, and pick the correct parts/products from the Receiving and Distribution Center.
- Perform Other Duties: Embrace a flexible approach by performing additional assignments as needed.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience working on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, requiring limited judgment.
- Ability to learn and apply company policies and procedures to assigned tasks.
- Ability to follow established procedures on routine work, requiring detailed instructions only on new assignments.
- Ability to work overtime and flexible hours on occasion.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- SAP experience is required.
- Understanding the implications of work and making recommendations for solutions.
- Ability to complete tasks creatively and effectively when necessary.
- Ability to determine methods and procedures on new assignments with minimal supervision.
- Basic reading and math skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work collaboratively with people in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role in a warehouse setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Familiarity with export documentation and international shipping regulations.
