We are seeking an experienced and talented Sr. Staff Geologist to join our Southern California team for our Irvine office.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and organize field records, maps and data
  • Draw geologic cross-sections from plans, field mapping and subsurface data collected during grading or investigations
  • Independently perform geotechnical site investigations
  • Prepare and review logs of borings and trenches
  • Reads and comprehends geologic conclusions and recommendations of geotechnical reports and plan sets
  • Identify soils and have a knowledge of general earthwork and grading specifications
  • Have knowledge of various drilling methods such has HSA, CPT, Mud Rotary, Diamond Core
  • Prepare field dailies and memos, assist in preparation of geotechnical reports and proposals
  • Interface effectively with project managers, technicians and contractors
  • Train field staff in basic geologic procedures and techniques during grading when applicable


Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology
  • 4 to 5+ years of related experience
  • Possess technical writing skills
  • Must have a knowledge of general earthwork and grading specifications
  • Strong organization and written/verbal communication skills
  • Use of testing / reporting software on company provided tablet
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Must attend all safety meetings trainings and adhere to all safety rules including the wearing of PPE.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record 
  • Provide own vehicle for limited off-road use
  • Must pass a background check along with a pre-employment physical and drug test
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
