The Director, Internal Audit Practices will play the lead role in all professional practices design and execution decisions for the Internal Audit Department, reporting to the VP Practices/Chief of Staff. This role is responsible for being the key adviser to the Internal Audit executive Leadership, directing methodology, quality assurance and audit practices strategy and managing a broad array of special projects for the business unit. The Head of Professional Practices plays a critical role in leading the department to enhance audit methodology and process to meet regulatory expectations and industry standards. This role supports department leadership, including the CAE and Vice Presidents, in continually improving Audit's perceived and actual value and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.

Responsibilities:

Lead the department to enhance audit methodology and process to meet regulatory expectations and industry standards.

  • Methodology includes, audit risk assessment, audit universe identification, audit planning activities.

  • Leadership, development, and operations of professional practice programs, services and activities

  • Proposing improvements and integrating audit professional practices

  • Operate the department’s Strategic Quality Assurance program.

Drive audit practices strategy and daily operations of the department including but not limited to audit committee reporting; methodology change management process; regulatory requests andand board interactions; quality assurance program; dynamic planning and risk assessment processes.

Prepare quarterly or ad-hoc meeting materials necessary for US regulatory meetings

Collaborate with the CAE, peers and stakeholders to build out the audit pipeline based on updated and emerging risks.

Provide thought leadership to Internal Audit Department to address critical issues and trends derived from regulatory activity analysis.

Coordinate, monitor and fulfill all US regulatory requests with the support from audit teams to ensure timely and appropriate information is provided to regulators

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Accounting, or Business Administration and Management

  • 12+ years of experience in Financial Services, Audit Management, Internal Controls, Operating Effectiveness, People Management, Risk Based Auditing, Risk Management and Mitigation, Technical Leadership, or related experience

In Lieu of Education:

  • 15+ years of experience in Financial Services, Audit Management, Internal Controls, Operating Effectiveness, People Management, Risk Based Auditing, Risk Management and Mitigation, Technical Leadership

  • CPA

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $173,000.00 to $263,400.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
