Job Description
Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial as an Clinical Manager at the Ambulatory Surgery Center in Tinley Park. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
The Clinical Manager will lead an expert perioperative team at our busy, freestanding ASC in Chicago’s south suburbs. As Clinical Manager you’ll be the on‑site nursing leader, directing day‑to‑day OR/PACU operations, safeguarding quality and safety, and partnering with surgeons and executives to keep care efficient, patient‑centered, and financially sound.
Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinate all clinical services—assessment, patient teaching, documentation, and throughput—while maintaining a constant floor presence to troubleshoot issues and foster a positive environment for staff, physicians, and patients
- Hire, schedule, coach, and evaluate nurses, surgical technologists, and support staff; oversee orientation, competencies, and continuing education to ensure compliance with State of Illinois standards and UChicago Medicine policies
- Drive performance‑improvement projects by serving on the Center’s PI committee and creatively identifying opportunities that elevate outcomes, safety, and patient satisfaction
- Facilitate efficient operations by partnering with the business office and leadership team to streamline scheduling, optimize block‑time utilization, and support sound budget management
Experience and Training:
- At least 2 years of nursing leadership experience in an ambulatory or perioperative setting plus 3 years managing clinical staff
- Proven success in quality‑improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Working knowledge of outpatient regulations, budgeting, and EMR platforms such as Epic
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, (MSN preferred)
- Current RN Licensure with the State of Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
