We are currently looking for a Food Scientist to be part of the Artificial Intelligence group at NotCo.The Food Scientist will be part of the global Artificial Intelligence (AI) team and will work with our Machine Learning, Software Engineers, Product Developers, Food Scientists and Research Chefs in the US and Latin America.
These teams work together on the continuous development of Giuseppe Platform, NotCo’s disruptive Artificial Intelligence technology.This position is located in San Francisco, CA. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Design methods and execute experiments focused on improving the rheology & texture of food matrices;- Participate in the design of new cognitive capabilities for Giuseppe;- Perform experiments for characterization of innovative ingredients and products using scientific methods;-Develop rheological tools and datasets to improve applications for the Machine learning team;-Recommend analytical equipment for purchase;-Propose improvements in products and processes based on experimental results;- Effectively communicate & create relationships with suppliers and vendors to procure samples for testing and analysis;-Support research efforts for both short-term and long-term company goalsCollaborate with product developers to reformulate, alter, and move forward in data-driven experimental designsRequirements:-Masters in Food Science/Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a related degree, M.S. preferred;-Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the food industry Knowledge in Food Rheology & Texture;-Experience in product development preferred;-Excellent critical thinker and able to communicate research findings to internal & external stakeholders;-Excel in a start-up environment and excited to create new procedures and processes from scratch, with a strong entrepreneurial mindset;-Be agile, independent, adaptable, takes initiative and thrive in a dynamic and changing culture;-Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for greater than 4 hours;-Be able to lift up to 30 lbs;- Authorization to work in the U.S. require
