POSITION DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Coordinates project activities, including contracts for services. Some positions manage rental properties. Provides information to neighborhood associations regarding City policies, processes, and procedures as it relates to neighborhood association organization, developing tools and methods for communicating with their members, establishing programs designed to improve neighborhood quality of life, and responding to inquiries through NOVA and other City customer intake systems.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
Position Specific Summary
The Community Services and Neighborhood Resources Project Coordinator position at the City of Tucson’s Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) is responsible for coordinating and facilitating programs and engagement activities to effectively implement and carry out ongoing delivery of services and outreach.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Community Services Manager. This position exercises supervision over housing personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures compliance with policies, procedures and with applicable federal, state and local statutes and regulations. Tracks and reports programmatic outcomes and engages in ongoing evaluation of program activities and services to ensure that they meet stakeholder objectives and other project requirements. Enters data gathered into Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS). Provides resources to the community throughout the city. Conducts outreach while promoting active participation from unsheltered and sheltered community members and stakeholders.
Develops, updates and regularly monitors program activities. Organizes and coordinates volunteers and partners involved in event execution. Facilitates community building to expand opportunities for engagement, events, workshops, and training sessions that address neighborhood needs and promote local resources. Plans, attends and facilitates meetings, business forums, and other community events to meet with stakeholders and residents to stay up to date with neighborhood activities and needs.
Builds and maintains new working relationships with key partner organizations and social service providers with resources that can support programmatic goals. Initiates development efforts, through continued engagement with community and partnering agencies. Works collaboratively with team members to review and discuss project strategies. Partners with and external stakeholders as needed.
Supervises staff, provides guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Ensures tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule. Participates in the recruitment process, including interviewing and selecting candidates. Reviews time-off request and balances workloads among team members.
Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
Working Conditions
Indoor and outdoor work with heavy exposure to extreme physical, ergonomic, or emotional hazardous environment.
