Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

   The Rojas lab is hiring a research assistant who will assist in managing daily operations in the lab and conducting research studies on fungal and oomycete pathogens in horticultural and agronomic crops. responsibilities will also include coordinating laboratory/greenhouse/field experiments, assisting in planning and designing experiments, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and other assigned duties. The position is temporary for 90 days and with reappointment contingent upon performance and funding availability.

Desired Qualifications

Valid vehicle driver's license is required. M.S. degree in plant Pathology, microbiology, biology, or related field or bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of experience in lab work. Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a team as well as an individual. Outstanding attention to detail Work order management skills (prioritizing tasks) to meet organizational deliverables. Time management and multitasking skills to meet deadlines, ensuring deliverables are completed on time.
