Job Description
Global Product and Market Manager with a specialization in aftermarket service. This role requires a degree in engineering, specifically in the fields of mechanical, electrical, or materials engineering and proven track record of success in marketing services.
This position involves strategic management and requires a strong understanding of marketing and experience in expanding business sectors. You will be instrumental in recognizing customer needs through the voice of the customer, market insights, and competitive analysis to support and enhance MTS Systems’ aftermarket service business for Test and Simulation Equipment.
Primary Objective:
Responsible for identifying and evaluating opportunities aligned with the strategic direction of MTS Service business and implementing deployment across all geographies. This involves developing relationships with key customers to understand their evolving needs, assessing market trends, understanding the competitive landscape, and optimizing the Service offering and value proposition across different geographies. Lead the creation and implementation of key strategic priorities and roadmaps to profitably grow the Service business.
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Develops, prioritizes, and executes business plans and associated roadmaps for our Service business to support strategic growth priorities of the business.
- Leads the service product management and marketing team to optimize our offering and value proposition globally.
- Gains in depth knowledge about market, competition, and customers to develop competitive differentiation strategies and market messaging content to drive profitable market penetration and expansion.
- Drives implementation of 80/20 FTB processes as they relate to the service business.
- Develops new differentiated products and service offerings that align with our ‘80’.
- Develops marketing and branding strategies for existing products and offerings.
- Communicates broadly to ensure cross-functional understanding of the market segment needs and alignment of business plans to market opportunities.
- Partners with service sales leaders to jointly build growth and retention strategies and support.
- Responsible for worldwide pricing for spare parts and service offerings
- Identifies gaps in service offerings. Partners cross functionally with leaders to leverage offerings and pursue growth opportunities within the assigned segment.
- Responsible for training worldwide service sales team on offerings and business strategies and direction.
- Partners with Service leadership on LRP, AOP and strategic planning.
- Develops and coaches talent within Service and across MTS; assesses talent performance objectively and drives accountability.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s of Science degree or equivalent in an engineering or technology related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a business development, technology, sales, and marketing capacity. 10 years of experience in the service segment is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly understand customer pain points, defining market requirements, and proposing investments that bring high value to customers.
- Ability to write clear and actionable business plans with an investment roadmap.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 10%.
