LOGISTICS DRIVER

Position Overview:

As an IT Logistics Driver, your primary responsibility will be to transport IT equipment from the warehouse to various work sites efficiently and safely. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills and a solid commitment to punctuality and attention to detail. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of IT equipment, contributing to the overall success of IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transportation of IT equipment.
• Safely drive a designated route, known as the "milk run," to deliver IT equipment to multiple work sites.
• Load and unload IT equipment onto the delivery vehicle, ensuring secure and damage-free transportation.
• Adhere to a predetermined schedule to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

 

Vehicle maintenance

• Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.

 

Communication

• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate and complete loading of IT equipment.
• Communicate effectively with on-site personnel to facilitate smooth and efficient deliveries.
• Report any delays, issues, or changes in the delivery schedule to the logistics coordinator.

 

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of delivered and returned IT equipment.
• Complete required paperwork, such as delivery receipts and logbooks, in a timely and organized manner.

 

Compliance and Safety:

• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe and lawful driving practices.
• Follow company safety protocols and guidelines for the handling and transporting IT equipment.
• Participate in ongoing safety training programs as required.

 

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience in logistics, delivery, or transportation.
• Familiarity with IT equipment and the ability to handle it with care.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently under tight schedules.
• Physical ability to lift and move IT equipment.

 

Preferred Additional Skills

• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems.
• Knowledge of basic IT terminology.
• Experience with route planning and optimization.
