Role description:

Arcadis is currently seeking an Entry-Level Water Engineer to join our Irvine, CA office.

Role accountabilities:

  • In this position, you will perform planning studies, design, and field investigations for water and wastewater projects (including collection systems, transmission, and distribution, pumping stations, and treatment plants).
  • Assess, develop, and support management of sustainability and resilience projects including vulnerability and mitigation assessments, and planning and design for utilities, municipalities, and cities
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials, and participate in client meetings
  • Create written technical reports, Preliminary Design Reports, evaluation memorandums, spreadsheets, written correspondence (emails/letters), and permitting applications.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders, including clients, coworkers, subcontractors, and county/agency review staff.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to accommodate collaboration with team members across the U.S. and internationally
  • Work on multiple concurrent projects with multiple deadlines, ensuring completion per project budgets and timelines
  • Meet project, client, and regulatory requirements, standards, and deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Reliable, client-focused, and capable of working successfully both independently under the supervision of project managers as well as within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and work ethic
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible attitude towards assignments, with the initiative and ability to take on new projects and other challenges regularly.
  • Ability to balance and address new challenges as they arise.
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water / wastewater / stormwater.
  • Familiarity/experience with ArcGIS and/or hydraulic modeling software is ideal but not required.

 

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
