SUMMARY OF POSITION:

 

Development of software solutions based on experience while keeping up to date on new technologies that apply to medical device development and testing. Accomplish this, at a minimum, via the following:

• Participate in executing design, implementation, and maintenance plans.

• Actively participates in in engineering efforts to improve existing products and create new products.

• Structures implementations in a manner that anticipates the type of scale and maintenance required for the scope of work.

• Collaborate with peers to complete development tasks and review implementations.

• Scoping of larger tasks into smaller actionable tasks for yourself and the software team.

• Communicating and collaborating with cross functional teams.

• Reduce technical debt by providing suggestions for improvements that provide efficient and possibly automated processes for knowledge transfer, design, development, and testing.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

• Work with cross functional teams including software, systems, quality, and regulatory to develop and maintain software for new and existing products.

• Suggest improvements for development environments that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of software development and unit testing.

• Analyze issues to clearly identify root cause and provide solutions to be reviewed.

• Support medical device audits by addressing software questions from other groups.

• Support quality, regulatory, and production groups to ensure proper software releases are being validated and moved to production.

• Generate and update software engineering work instructions, procedures, and other design documentation as needed.

 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Participate in meetings to provide a clear understanding of requirements and their traceability through design, verification, and validation.

• Follow established coding styles to provide a more homogeneous code base that can be easily understood by all developers.

• Conduct and participate in code reviews and ensure quality procedures are followed.

• Keep up with quality and regulatory requirements and how they apply to software.

• Participate in the effort to validate software tools to be used in the development and production of platform software.

• Complete all assigned training by the due date.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
 

• Minimum is a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer engineering.

• Expected 2 years relevant experience.

• Work within the established development environment and provide suggestions for improvements.

• Obtain and maintain an understanding of the quality and regulatory requirements.
