Consumer Assistance Bureau- DFS
Job Duties:
• Responsible for handling a variety of consumer financial services complaints in a timely and effective manner. This includes reviewing the financial institution’s response to the complaint, writing a brief synopsis of the dispute, and sending the consumer the appropriate letter to close the case.
• Respond to phone inquiries and written inquiries from consumers regarding their complaint or general issues they may have with a financial services company.
• Inform consumers of complaint filing procedures or refer them to another government agency, if appropriate.
• Code incoming new consumer complaints and send out the proper initial letters.
• Identify cases requiring prioritization and refer them to a supervisor for assignment.
• For new financial services respondents not already in our system, research the entity’s DFS license status, applicable government regulator, and obtain the institution’s contact information to handle the complaint.
• Work collegially and collaboratively as a team in support of handling and resolving consumer financial services complaints.
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Qualifications:
Minimum of one year of experience working as a paralegal
