GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Youth & Family Director the position supervises groups of children and implements YMCA activities.

LOCATION: We are currently hiring at all 4 of our YMCA of Southern Nevada locations: Durango Hills, Centennial Hills, Skyview, and Heinrich.

DATES: Mandatory training will be held from May17th - May 22nd. Camp begins on Tuesday, May 27th and runs Monday - Friday throughout the summer.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

(1) LEADS and PARTICIPATES in group activities and PERFORMS related skills

(e.g., crafts, STEAM, sports, reading, and games).

(2) FOLLOWS specific YMCA Camp Standard Operating Procedures

(e.g., check-in/out of participants, parent greeting, cleaning and straightening of supplies in the area).

(3) IMPLEMENTS program activities and special events.

(4) PROMOTES and EMBRACES Character Development in curriculum.

(5) SERVES as a positive role model for program participants.

(6) BUILDS and MAINTAINS a high-standard of member service for all program participants.

(7) PROMOTES safety as an overriding objective in all programming efforts.

(8) PERFORMS all other duties as assigned.

 

ABUSE RISK MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS:

1.    Follows employees and volunteers screening requirements and use screening instruments to screen for abuse risk. 2.    Provides employees and volunteers with on-going supervision and training related to abuse risk. 3.    Provides employees and volunteers with regular feedback regarding their boundaries with youth. 4.    Requires employees and volunteers to adhere to policies and procedures related to abuse Respond quickly to policy and procedure violations using the organization’s progressive disciplinary procedures. 5.    Responds seriously and confidentially to reports of suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. 6.    Follows mandated reporting requirements. 7.    Communicates to all employees and volunteers the organization’s commitment to protect their consumers from abuse. 8.    Reports essential abuse risk management information to their supervisor, executive director, or human resources.
