Job Summary
The Grounds Student Assistant assists in the Physical Plant/Work Management Center providing support to faculty and staff in areas such as outdoor waste and recycling services and grounds upkeeping.Job Description
Typical duties include but not limited to:
- Regularly patrol designated areas of the campus to collect and dispose of trash and recycling materials.
- Care for plants and greenery across the campus, including watering and pruning as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as trimming plants, to upkeep the appearance and functionality of outdoor areas.
- Perform routine maintenance on state vehicles.
Other Duties:
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications
- Enrolled as a degree seeking student at Florida Gulf Coast University at the time of hire and throughout the appointment.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be in good conduct standing with the University.
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be friendly, dependable, and willing to work in a physically active position.
