What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is seeking a knowledgeable System Security Lead to join our expanding Cybersecurity practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of security measures across an organization's systems, including conducting risk assessments, managing incident responses, developing security strategies, ensuring compliance with standards, and staying updated on emerging threats, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security into business processes.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Oversee enterprise security system; detect, respond, and resolve incidents.

  • Protect assets with new security strategies, monitoring controls and ongoing evaluation.

  • Implement new strategies, monitor activity, and target potential cyber threats.

  • Supervise security operations.

  • Collaborate with programmers and account managers to determine the potential impact attacks have on external clients.

  • Conduct complex research to determine the origin, method, and purpose of cyber threats.

  • Perform vulnerability scans, detect malicious mobile code, and identify unauthorized access.

  • Manage team productivity and produce semi-annually performance appraisals.

  • Develop and initiate corrective action, system safeguards and recovery plans.

  • Serve as technical security advisor to all internal and external parties.

  • Complete meetings daily with the client, assist in building standards and metrics, assist in completing presentations for the client, and execute the daily tasks assigned to the role.

  • Advise client on critical security measures and ways to lower risk.

  • Stay current with technology through continued education, professional association, networking and coordinating regular software and hardware evaluations.

  • Document all activity with regular condition reports.

What You Will Need:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance.

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • FIVE (5) or more years of experience with enterprise security systems.

  • Experience with incident response plans, vulnerability scans and penetration tools.

  • Advanced knowledge of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to be able to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

  • Proven ability to mentor teams and individuals.

  • Proficient with Office Suite.

What Would Be Nice to Have:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TOP SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field.

  • GIAC-GCIH -and/or- GIAC-GCED -and/or- CEH certifications.

  • CISSP or CISM certification

  • PMP certified

  • Leadership and corporate experience

  • Client service experience and strong communication skills (both oral and written) and presentation skills.

  • Highly technical professional and should possess an advanced understanding across a broad range of security technologies and will take a proactive approach to cyber incidents.

  • Several years of experience working with each phase of the Incident Response Life Cycle in NIST and ISO standards and should have hands-on experience in creating and executing cyber hunting missions.

  • Problem-solver with the ability to handle challenges under pressure.

  • Experience and proven track record of finding and responding to cyber threats and incidents. As a key member of the Cyber Security Solutions Incident Response offering team, flexibility, and broad knowledge of security processes, along with strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Direct hands-on expertise in the following areas of information security: knowledge of information security solutions including data loss prevention; intrusion detection and prevention; network security monitoring; and vulnerability management in global environments.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$216,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
