Position Overview:
The Salvation Army Eastern Pennsylvania & Delaware Division is seeking a full-time Director of Corporate Engagement to join its Community Relations & Development Department. The Director of Corporate Engagement will lead The Salvation Army of Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware's Corporate Engagement team, with duties focused on, but not limited to, fundraising for the Greater Philadelphia region. This individual is responsible for building a caseload of 100 corporate donors and providing ongoing stewardship with an emphasis on securing gifts of $10,000 and higher. The Director of Corporate Engagement will spearhead Divisional corporate initiatives such as the annual Red Kettle fundraising. This individual will also supervise a team that oversees digital communications and foundation partnerships.
Responsibilities
Description of Position:
Primary expectations of this role include:
- Manage a caseload of 100 corporations with an emphasis on annual gifts of $10,000 of higher.
- Establish and manage a corporate giving plan, focused primarily on Greater Philadelphia, to effectively solicit and steward corporate gifts on caseload through face to face solicitation, phone solicitation, proposal-writing, gift stewardship, and networking.
- Work with the Director of Advancement to continually identify and prioritize new corporate prospects and develop strategies for communication and approach to these potential funders.
- Responsible for securing five- and six-figure corporate financial sponsorships for Salvation Army campaigns and special events, including Greater Philadelphia annual events.
- Write, edit, and submit proposals and reports in conformance with guidelines issued by corporate grantors.
- Oversee EITC renewals for Division and develop strategy to increase ElTC corporate gifts.
- Recruit and develop volunteer leadership groups for digital and/or physical events or campaigns. Solicit various level sponsorships and make presentations to pitch lead sponsorships. Work cooperatively to support event success.
- Manager and oversee The Salvation Army Matching Gift program
- Oversee Divisional Red Kettle Campaign by being the liaison between THQ Corporate Engagement and the Divisional Field staff by disseminating important Red Kettle updates and providing THQ with timely Corporate Partnerships requests.
- Lead Divisional Digital Fundraising campaigns by using electronic mailings, website, and social media. Oversee campaign related webinars.
- Supervise and support the Development Communications Manager to ensure the timely completion and maintenance of digital fundraising resources, including websites, event registrations, and virtual donation pages.
- Supervise and support the Divisional Grants Manager to ensure individual units are completing grant proposals and reports in a thorough and timely manner. Provide direct grant writing support to units on as-needed basis.
- Collaborate with Greater Philadelphia staff to refer professionals of corporations to The Salvation Army's Advisory Board and young professionals' group, Echelon.
- Provide support to Divisional Field staff through corporate grant and engagement opportunities, providing communication updates, and through Red Kettle assistance. Review Field staff corporate fundraising proposals prior to submission.
