Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist

General Description/Purpose:

With over 120 years of manufacturing high-end, collector-quality, American-made furniture, and nearly as many years as a furniture retailer, L & J G Stickley, Inc., is the proud employer of almost 900 talented individuals. We have three manufacturing facilities and thirteen Showrooms. As a part of our growth strategy, we are seeking an Accounts Payable-Receivable Specialist to join our team!

Position Overview:

As an experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist, your responsibilities will include reviewing and processing invoices, matching purchase orders with invoices, researching outstanding payables and processing payments, as well as cross training with Accounts Receivable staff. This position would include maintaining good relationships with internal buying teams, vendors, management and focusing on timeliness and accuracy of invoice processing and statement reconciliation. You will have the opportunity to expand your skills and grow your career through cross-training and supporting the overall accounting function of the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare analysis and account / payment reconciliations
  • Review invoices daily in automated system V360 and process through to AX accounting system
  • Some manual entry in AX primary software and manual posting in 2nd software for Mfg. Fourth Shift
  • Create payment journal print checks/ACH's/Debit/AMEX, mail and add attachments
  • Daily review of mail and correspondence and appropriate follow-up
  • Research any outstanding items or general request from vendors
  • Work with Buyers on outstanding Purchase order discrepancies
  • Invoicing wholesale and retail customers
  • Support credit and collections activities
  • Back-up for posting cash receipts to customer accounts

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Exposure to basic accounting principles with concentration in payables
  • Experience with business computer systems
  • Experience with basic Office software (Excel, Word)
  • Excellent phone, email, and communication skills
