About the role
Responsibilities to include:
- Oversight and Development of $40MM+ Portfolio of NAFL Financial Institutions Portfolio within the Western Territory
- Oversight of NAFL FI business across 4 branches (San Francisco, Portland, San Ramon and Seattle)
- Management and professional development of 4 NAFL Financial Institution Underwriters
- Business Development and execution on New, Rate, Retention, GPW, and Service Goals for Region
- Direct Underwriting of large regional accounts and select books of business for key trading partners
- Conducting Regularly Scheduled Team meetings to review financial and service results, team priorities and Tracker management
- Adherence to authority and portfolio management objectives, including use of reinsurance as required
- Oversight of Underwriting File Integrity through active engagement with Operations management and team members
- Oversight of tracker data integrity, including accuracy of submission status
- Providing Underwriting Authority to Pacific North Underwriters
- Regular travel for client, broker, and branch meetings in California and other markets
- Fostering relationships with key regional brokers
- Fostering relationships with internal constituents supporting the Pacific North Region, including NAFL PNP, Management Liability and Cyber leaders, as well as Branch Managers and Marketing Managers
- Active engagement with NAFL Product Management
- Preparation for and successful completion of Corporate underwriting audits
- College degree in Finance or Economics preferred
- > 5 years underwriting Financial Lines products (D&O, E&O, EPL, Fidelity and Fiduciary) for Asset Management firms, Banks, and Insurance companies
- Experience managing/leading an underwriting team
- Successful track record executing upon New Business, GPW, Rate, Retention, Service and Underwriting Goals
- Successful track record developing producer and branch relationships
