The HR Administration Section delivers high quality, responsive, timely and equitable human resources services for UNICEF offices which include onboarding, staff entitlements, benefits, recruitment and other administration support.</p> <p><strong>How can you make a difference</strong><strong>?</strong> </p> <p>Reporting to the HR Manager (Onboarding) this role will provide high quality occupational health services and ensure the timely administration of pre-placement, periodic and travel clearances globally.</p> <p>As part of its Future Focus Initiative (FFI), UNICEF will be undertaking a global recruitment and placement exercise beginning in August 2025 which will involve approximately 750-1,000 positions worldwide.  To support the Onboarding process, the Medical Specialist will be responsible for the following duties:</p> <ol> <li><strong><u>Occupational Health and Clinical Duties</u></strong><strong>:</strong></li> </ol> <ul> <li>Apply technical expertise to process and review day-to-day occupational health duties with a focus on pre-placement clearances and process UNICEF staff travel clearances.</li> <li>Conduct periodic clearance reviews for drivers, manual works and security staff.</li> <li>Support the review of sick leave for Budapest-based staff; prepare recommendations for staff returning to work and advise on termination for reasons of health, in line with relevant policies and guidelines.</li> <li>Review and follow-up staff cases with outside specialists, as necessary.</li> <li>Provide case management for occupational injuries and illnesses to ensure employees receive appropriate care.</li> </ul> <ol start="2"> <li><strong><u>Medico Administrative Duties</u></strong><strong>:</strong></li> </ol> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. Document all employee medical history, including injuries and illnesses within the workplace.</li> <li>Ensure that medical records are kept in a strict confidential manner in the UN DHMOSH filing system (EarthMed).</li> <li>Provide support for other medical related queries.</li> <li>Collaborate in clinical audits of medical entitlements.</li> <li>Collaborate in policy and document reviews on UNICEF medical entitlements.</li> <li>Follows the United Nations established policies and procedures regarding medical clearances, sick leave, and termination for reasons of health.</li> <li>Provides cover for other Medical Specialist during their absence.</li> <li>Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on medico-administrative processes.</li> </ul> <ol start="3"> <li><strong><u>Liaise and Maintain relationships with key internal and external partners</u></strong></li> </ol> <ul> <li>Coordinate with HR, Operations unit, and other involved parties to address case management and workplace injuries.</li> <li>Liaise with relevant sections, HR, DHMOSH and staff members on sick leave to assist in the recommendation and facilitation of an employee returning to work and/or light duty accommodation.</li> <li>Provide absence case management of employees out of
