The opportunity

PAS Tax builds and improves upon organizational and individual performance, delivering complex tax advice in an ever-changing working environment.  We are currently seeking a Senior Manager to join our team to work on challenging compensation and benefits engagements for a diverse client base.  Our multidisciplinary team of actuaries, lawyers, human resource, and tax professionals provide specialized services to assist our clients in the design, planning, and management of compliance risks associated with their compensation and benefit programs.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you will work on multiple reward projects related to the review, design, and implementation of executive compensation plans, short-term incentive plans, equity-based incentive plans, qualified and nonqualified pension plans, and consult on other cash-based incentive and fringe benefit plans while delivering quality client service and providing flexible and innovative reward solutions. You will also be expected to have excellent communication skills, integrate into and lead new teams, and rapidly establish relationships both internally within EY and externally with our client base.  You’ll be responsible to assist with generating profitable revenue by identifying follow-on engagement opportunities and developing lasting relationships with clients.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Possess compensation and employee benefits experience to be able to assess tax and compliance considerations associated with US based compensation and benefits programs.  Global equity and multinational compensation and benefits experience is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and strong business-writing skills
  • Collaborate with actuaries, plan administrators, compensation, and transaction professionals
  • Work with clients on human resource operations and transaction projects
  • Perform IRS and ERISA research for qualified plans and executive compensation issues involving tax provisions
  • Track goals, action items and budgets using project management tools and methodologies
  • Implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiency, and mitigate risk

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field with 8+ years of experience in tax and employee benefits law or consulting
  • Must have either CPA, JD, or Enrolled Agent credential
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical business acumen
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing requirements
  • Project management experience, planning, budget management, and reporting
  • Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment
