What you will do –

You will work with minimal supervision to assist engineers, scientists, and/or teams in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment. You will also assist project teams in establishing specifications/quality standards from start to completion of the project and communicate basic technical information clearly in written and oral form. 

  • Train others on new product processes and test procedures. 
  • Organize, coordinate, and execute building and testing of prototypes/products per engineering instructions. 
  • Act as a resource to other employees. 
  • Use internal resources/qualified external vendors to assist engineering teams to identify and obtain supplies and services. 
  • Build quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements. 
  • General understanding of common engineering statistical and scientific tools (e.g Gage R&R, DOE, SPC, stress/strain analysis etc)/applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation. 
  • Ensure product is tested to the most current/validated method/process and specification and documentation is correctly completed per GLP & QS requirements as applicable. 
  • Develop concepts and accordingly construct prototypes/products from concepts. 
  • Independently explore and propose creative solutions based on solid rationales and contribute to design and process concepts. 
  • Support the development and implementation of capable manufacturing processes for new products.    
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering team and contributes ideas to or generates Intellectual Property submissions. 
  • Prepares and presents technical data and recommendations at technical reviews as requested. 

What you need –

  • High school diploma or equivalent – required
  • Two-year Technical Degree (i.e., AA, Certificate) and/or equivalent experience. 
  • 2+ years of work experience – required
  • Technical work experience in medical device development – preferred
  • Able to provide preliminary equipment and prototype drawings and specifications- preferred
  • Bench fixturing/tooling design experience – preferred
  • Experience working with external vendors – preferred

Travel Percentage: 10%
