Senior Manager Data Network Architecture and Engineering

Job Summary/Purpose

Reporting to the Director, Telecommunications, the Sr. Mgr., Data Network Architecture and Engineering will lead a team in developing the architecture of the data network environment for Data Centers, remote Entergy locations, wide area network connectivity and cloud connectivity.  The role will serve as a key member of the Telecommunications Lead Team and collaborate with peers in Telecommunications, the extended IT organization as well as the IS organization.  The position will work closely with the business functions and partners to develop solutions that meet desired business outcomes.   The role will be accountable for execution of large network driven projects as well as other large projects executed out of peer IT groups, IS and business functional areas.  The role will provide leadership and drive a continuous improvement approach throughout the Data Network organization.  The Sr. Mgr. will be responsible for building the Data Network roadmap, including development of capital project plans and budgets, as well as day to day network operations.

Education, Experience and/or Certification:

 

Minimum education required of the position.

• BS/BA degree required. Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical area of study preferred.
• Advanced degree is a plus.
• Advanced Network certifications are a plus.

 

Minimum experience required of the position:

• 15+ years of experience with design and management of large, complex data network environments
• 5+ years of experience in managing a technical team responsible for design and management of large, complex data network environments.
• Experience in vendor relationship and contract management
• Familiarity with business operations, financial planning, regulatory, and best in class technology landscape
• Specific and direct experience with network technologies
• Experience with developing relationships with business partners/customers
