Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of financial reports, financial analysis and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance and is a self-starter, detailed oriented, problem solver, with strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt to changing deliverables.

The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and may work in some aspects of general accounting for up to nine (9) small companies with dedicated focus for one to three companies. The following are some of the main role responsibilities, but this is not an exhaustive list. 

Requirements

Role Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all accounting aspects and GL accounts of assigned company(s), including coding transactions, bank and other reconciliations, preparing month end journal entries and intercompany reviews. 
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statement analysis for assigned company(s)
• Assist with the implementation of an ERP for assigned company(s). 
• Develop reports, analysis and forecasts in ERP for assigned company(s)
• Develop relationships and work directly with director/managers of assigned company(s) to develop a full understanding of the business and assist in all aspects of financial reviews.
• Sales tax reporting, where applicable
• Full cycle inventory, where applicable

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive organizational and problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented and inquisitive 
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Be able to demonstrate proficiency in Excel and ability to learn new applications 
• Experience with ERP implementation

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent industry-related experience
• 5+ years of accounting experience working in financial reporting & forecasting, income statement review, AP, AR, inventory; treasury experience a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations
• Full understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
