As a  Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking , you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.


Job responsibilities

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Develop secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others. 
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems. 
  • Create secure microservices as part of an Event driven, Scalable, Extensible Architecture in a DevOps ecosystem to promote enhanced and differentiated user experiences in a real time and near real time environment.
  • Identify and suggesting potential solutions for accessibility barriers based on WCAG 2.1 standards and PDF/UA as well as compliance with the ADA, Section 508, the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act, and other accessibility related laws.
  • Recommend solutions to maintain compliance while creating accessible digital products for an excellent customer experience.
  • Apply accessibility knowledge to a wide range of the firm’s digital properties, including mobile applications, and digital documents by providing in-depth accessibility guidance for our primary customer-facing web and mobile design system
  • Follow agile methodologies during the software lifecycle. The developer will be responsible for detailed story definition with acceptance criteria, high level design, and test. The developer will be required to write automated unit, feature, and regression test suites. Development artifacts are to be produced in adherence to Consumer Community Banking (CCB) process and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other microservices developer, automation engineers and manual QA testers, and testers from cross functional groups such as Integration Solutions Testing and User Acceptance Testing.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Must have completed AWS certifications and have extensive hands-on experience with building/deploying/managing AWS Public Cloud-native services and applications (esp. AWS-Connect ecosystem).
  • Extensive Java experience in server side development of services and applications and hands-on experience creating HTTPS/Restful Web Services + JSON with WebSocket eventing.
  • Require Experience building highly available, performant and scalable clustered services as well as performance tuning of NoSQL DB i.e., Cassandra
  • Agile Development experience with SCRUM or similar methodologies and ability to work in a DevOps environment.
  • Test-infected attitude (strong desire to perform thorough and exhaustive automated unit, integration and system testing experience (Junits, Jmeter).
  • Experience with Atlassian toolset is mandatory (JIRA, Confluence, Maven, Bamboo, GIT and Static analysis tools such as Sonar/Corbetura)
  • Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into functional requirements documentation.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture, design across all systems
  • Ability to learn and get accustomed with the inner workings of vendor products / applications in the portfolio applications a must.
  • Expert knowledge of developing web applications with Angular8/6 or React, HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, Material UI, Responsive web applications with Bootstrap
  • Good understanding of Digital, Cloud and Omni channel Customer Experience /Contact center concepts is highly desirable
