Job Description: Accounting Clerk
Summary
The Accounting Clerk will assist the Corporate Controller by ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. The Accounting Clerk will reconcile the bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers, manage income and expenditure accounts, and help maintain financial and accounting software systems. The Accounting Clerk will help ensure that transactional data is complete and accurate so that corporate financial statements are complete and accurate.
Responsibilities:
Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
Maintain up-to-date billing system;
Posts payments to customer accounts
Generate and send out invoices;
Follow up on, collect and allocate payments;
Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines;
Perform account reconciliations;
Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments or other irregularities;
Investigate and resolve customer inquiries;
Process adjustments;
Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Match supplier invoices to authorizing purchase orders and proofs of receipt
Process expense reports
Process procurement card payments
Issue stop payments and void checks
Issue reminders to suppliers regarding uncashed checks
Pay supplier invoices when due
Research supplier requests for payment
Monitor supplier W-9 form submissions
Payroll support for Manager of Payroll & Tax
Properly document transactions and adhere to internal controls
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Skills:
Minimum 2- 3 years of accounting experience as a clerk or bookkeeper
Proficient in Quickbooks Online.
Experience with Microsoft Excel to include Pivot tables, conditional formatting, and SUMIF/COUNTIF formulas.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
High School diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred.
Stable internet connection and remote work setup.
Previous experience working in a remote environment and a US company is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of bank reconciliation and cash flow is a plus.
Compensation: $2,000 - $2,500 monthly.
