Senior Excise and Customs Advisor

In this role, you will partner closely with business units to address risk and leverage excise and customs opportunities, support the development and implementation of control and compliance improvements, contribute to responses to government inquiries and provide guidance and training for operations. You will support other initiatives to identify cost reduction, cost avoidance and cost recovery opportunities and partner with the businesses, global tax and the customs center of expertise to facilitate their completion.</p> <h2>Key Accountabilities</h2> <ul> <li>Maintain the excise tax control framework for the assigned region and products and monitor adherence to the implemented processes.</li> <li>Partner collaboratively with other global trade compliance domains and businesses within the organization to ensure proper understanding of roles and responsibilities and to provide governance of the global trade compliance excise operating model.</li> <li>Support excise strategic planning and advisory initiatives, including advising on business projects, excise licenses and permits and excise guarantees and resolving complex issues related to excise declarations, stock shrinkages and losses.</li> <li>Monitor legislation for products covered by excise control framework and update compliance processes accordingly.</li> <li>Perform complex excise audits and governmental investigations in alignment with other audit initiatives.</li> <li>Establish adequate processes to govern excise data monitoring and reporting for internal and external purposes.</li> <li>Partner with excise subject matter experts and other business and function stakeholders across the assigned region to deploy technologies and various activities involved in the implementation phases, including requirements gathering, user testing and training.</li> <li>Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <h3>Minimum Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience</li> <li>Strong analytical and organizational skills</li> <li>Minimum of four years of related work experience</li> <li>Other minimum qualifications may apply</li> </ul> <h3>Preferred Qualification</h3> <ul> <li>Master's degree or other post-secondary degree</li> <li>Experience in monitoring internal controls, risk assessments and internal audits</li> <li>Experience in working with relevant government agencies</li> <li>Experience in tracking, communicating and implementing government regulatory or legislative decision making or audit processes</li> </ul> <p>#LI-MS1</p> <p>Our Offer<br/> We provide a fast paced stimulating international environment, which will stretch your abilities and channel your talents.
