Position Overview

The Director, Office of the EVP & COO, serves as a operational and strategic partner, maximizing the effectiveness and reach of the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. This role oversees the execution of operational priorities, driving internal projects, and ensuring seamless communication and coordination across the organization. The Director will combine a strong understanding of the organization's strategic goals with project management and operational acumen to help translate vision into tangible results, while managing the operational rhythm of the EVP & COO office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operationalizing Strategy & Project Management:
    • Oversee and manage operational projects and initiatives directed by the EVP & COO, from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timely delivery.
    • Assist with turning strategic objectives into actionable operational plans and timelines, ensuring clear understanding and accountability across relevant teams.
    • Drive cross-functional coordination and collaboration among various departments to ensure successful project outcomes and efficient operational workflows.
    • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and proactively propose solutions to keep initiatives on track.
  • Operational Excellence & Process Improvement:
    • Facilitate the implementation of new or refined operational procedures and best practices to enhance overall organizational effectiveness.
    • Track key operational metrics and prepare regular reports for the EVP & COO, providing insights into performance and areas requiring attention.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Draft, review, and refine high-level communications, presentations, and reports for the EVP & COO, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and appropriate messaging for diverse audiences (e.g., executive leadership, internal staff, key partners).
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the EVP & COO, prioritizing inquiries, facilitating responses, and managing relationships.
    • Prepare the COO for critical meetings, presentations, and engagements by developing agendas, compiling briefing materials, and outlining key discussion points.
  • Information Management & Decision Support:
    • Synthesize information and data from various sources into concise, actionable insights to support the EVP & COO's decision-making.
    • Conduct targeted research and analysis on operational best practices, industry trends, and internal performance to inform strategic discussions.
    • Manage and prioritize the COO's workflow, ensuring critical information is received, reviewed, and acted upon in a timely and organized manner.
 

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant field required. 
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in an operational, project management, or senior executive support role within a complex organizational setting.
    • Demonstrated experience in managing projects from conception to completion and driving operational improvements.
    • Proven track record of effectively supporting and collaborating with senior executives (VP-level or higher preferred).
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with an aptitude for data-driven decision-making.
    • High degree of discretion, professionalism, and integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence outcomes across all levels of the organization.
    • Proactive, resourceful, self-motivated, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
